WHAT IS BEST ROBOTICS?
BEST Robotics (Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology) is a national robotics competition seeking to engage middle and high school students in critical skills needed in the modern economy. The Heart of Texas BEST Robotics hub (Hosted by TSTC Waco) serves the six county central Texas area including Waco, Temple, and Killeen / Fort Hood, and provides an opportunity for middle and high school students and teachers to compete in a competition that focuses on the engineering design process, team work, soft skills, and above all fun application of all STEM areas.
BEST Robotics began 21 years ago with two engineers experiencing the powerful connection between young students, technical problem solving, and the collaborative atmosphere of middle and high school competition. That singular vision has evolved into over 45 hubs in a seventeen states running an annual design to market challenge. Schools are provided with limited resources (Returnable and Consumable kits at no cost to schools...FREE MATERIALS), limited time (6 WEEK COMPETITION), and all resources needed to bring the robot to life.
Robots are only the tip of the iceberg. Teams compete in marketing, documentation, exhibit & interview, and maybe most importantly...Spirit and Sportsmanship categories to take home the ultimate prize...The BEST Overall award. Top placing teams advance to the Texas BEST Regional Competition hosted by the University of Texas Dallas.
What combines the excitement of Friday Night Athletics, industry grade competition, and the pure experience of FUN...This competition. Did I mention there is no cost to competing schools!!!
